pH(Potential of Hydrogen)

- pH is a measure of hydrogen ion concentration. It expresses whether the solution is acidic, basic or neutral in nature.

-pH scale usually ranges from 0 to 14.

-Those aqueous solution whose pH is less than 7 then it will be acidic in nature.

-Those solution whose pH is equal to 7 then solution will be neutral.

-If pH is greater than 7 then solution will be basic or alkaline in nature.

                                  ph values
1.Hcl acid                 0.0
2.Lemon juice         2.0
3.Vinegar                 2.2
4.Wine                      4.0
5.Pure water            7.0
6.Maleic acid            3.5
7.Sea water              7.5-8.4

-No pH values for vegetables oils, gasoline or pure alcohol.

-pH is used in everyday life as well as Science and Industry.

   Ph equation is -

                                    pH =-log[H+]

Ans-The pH of 10^-8N HCL can be calculated by the following steps -
[H+]=10^-8N
If the solution is dilute then water will dissociate to produce H+ ions
H20—[H+] + OH-
The concentration of H+ released from water is 10^-8and pH of water is 7
H+=10^-7+10^-8
H+ = 10^-7(1+0.1)
H+ =1.1×10^-7

I am suggesting you a quick revision book of science for 10 class board students

We know that
pH = -log H+
Hence pH =6.95
--Boron based Carborane has pH value of -18.carborane is incredibly willing to donate a electron to others substances. Carborane acid are non-corrosive in nature so they may be handled with bare skin.
