Delhi plays vital role in country politics. During many centuries, Delhi was the heart of many mughal emperors. This is also known as Indraprastha during Mahabharata where pandavas used to live. After the 1947, Delhi declared as the official capital of country. 

Humayun's Tomb (Maqbara-i-Humayun)



It is a historical landmark in new Delhi. Humayun's tomb is a tomb that was constructed after the death of mughal emperor Humayun in the year 1565 A. D.  by his senior widow wife Bega Begum. The walls of the tomb enclose a square garden that is divided into four large squares separated by causeways & water channels and each square is again divided into four parts forming a typical garden called Charbagh. The last emperor of mughal dynasty Bahudar Shah Zafar 2 also stay in this tomb during the war of independence in 1857. This is main tourist attraction place for foreigners that opens from 6AM - 6PM but best Time for visiting is 3:00 PM- 5:00PM.

Qutub Minar

It is a monument that is located in Mehrauli Delhi.It was built in the year 1193 after defeating last delhi hindu's kingdom by Qutub-ud-din Aibak. It is 72.5m high tower building. The timing for visiting in Minar is from 7:00am to 5:00pm. The best time to visit in this monument in winter season when wheather is cool and minar is looking so gorgeus.



National Zoological Park


It is also known as chidiya Ghar.Delhi zoo is a 176 acres zoo in the middle of a burgeoning urban delhi was opened in the year 1959.It remains closed on national holidays or on friday of every week of month.It opens from 9am to 4:30pm but in winter season time may differ.


Red Fort

Red fort is a historic fort in the city of Delhi.Its construction was completed in the year 1648. It is popular in india because every year on Independence Day, the prime minister of India hoists the national flag of India on the main gate of fort.It remains closed on every monday of week. Fort was the main residence of many mughal emperors during mughal dynasty.



Lotus Temple


The lotus temple is located in Delhi closed to nehru place that was opened in the year 1986. Temple is open to all religion persons or person of any qualification. Timing is from 9:00am to 5:00pm but this may differ from april onwards. The temple is built in the shape of a floating half open lotus. The lotus temple is only Bahai temple of workships in asia. It attracts millions of peoples in a year. It remains closed on every monday of the week. It is architect by Fariborz Shaba.

India Gate

India Gate is a monument located astride the Rajpath, Delhi. Dedicated to the troops of British India who died in wars during 1914-1919.It was opened in the year 1931.It opens all days of the week throughout the year but the best time for site is between 7:00PM to 9:30PM.



Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple



Akshardham Temple is a Hindu temple located in pandav nagar, New Delhi. It is opened in the year 2005. It is built by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. It is an eternal place of devotion, purity and peace. It remains closed on every monday of the week. It opens for visitors between 9:30am- 6:30.There is main attraction in this temple is water show.

Jantar Mantar

It is a observatory in new Delhi.This site is built by Maharaja Jai Singh 2 of jaipur in 1724.It consists of 13 architectural astronomy instruments. It is an outstanding example of coming together of observation of the universe, society and briefs. It is smaller version of Jantar Mantar jaipur.The opening time of Jantar mantar is 6am and closing timing is 6pm.It opens all days of the week.


Rastrapati Bhavan



Rashtrapati Bhavan is the official residence of president of india that is located at the western end of Rajpath, New Delhi.It was opened in the year 1931.It has empressive mughal garden in which general public is not allowed but it opens in the month between 14february to 14 march.It remains closed on saturday and sunday.It is located in an area of 130 hectares and was completed in 1929 with the place having 340 rooms. But most significant room is Durbar hall, which is the ceremonial hall of all official functions of President of India.

Agrasen ki Baoli

It is also known as Ugrasen ki Baoli. It is a historical landmark located near Diwanchand Imaging centre, new Delhi.It is believed that it was built by agrasen but it rebuilt during the tughlaq period of Delhi Sultanate. It opens daily from 9am -5:30pm.It has ancient stepwell but there are much more interesting things to know about it. Stepwell was built during the time of Mahabharata. 



Masjid-i-Jehan Nama


It is located near chandni chowk, new Delhi. It is commonly known as Jama Masjid. It was built by mughal emperor Shah Jahan between 1650-1656 and it is one of the largest mosque of indiaand second largest mosque of indian continent. It opens all days of the weeks between 7am-12pm and 1:30pm-6:30pm. Hindus or person from other religion can also visit in this mosque. If you are non- vegetarian then you can enjoy the taste of food of mosque. 

Shri Shri Radha Parthasarathi Mandir

It is popularly known as Iskon Temple, Delhi. It was inaugurated on 5 april 1998 by the former Prime minister of india Shri Atal Bihari Bajpayee. It is located near Nehru place, in the east of kailah area of New Delhi, India. It opens all days of the week from 4:30am-1:00pm in the morning and in evening from 4:15pm-9:00 pm. 


Teen Murti Bhavan



It is the former residence of first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru.It was built in the year 1930 by the british architect named Robert Torr Russell. Jawaharlal Nehru stayed in this bhavan for 16 years until his death in 1964.After his death Murti Bhavan is converted into memorial. The best to visit in Murti Bhavan is during the winter season. It opens all days of the week from 10:00am -5:00pm except sunday.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia Dargah

It is shrine in new Delhi.Nizamuddin Dargah is the Dargah of one of the Sufi saint Khawaja Nizamuddin Auliya (1238-1325CE). This is also famous for qawwali sessions in the evening. This was established in the year 1325. This was built by Mohammed Tughlaq.It is visited by thousands peoples of different religions. It opens all days of week from 5:00am to 10:30pm.


Gurudwara Bangla Sahib


One of the prominent sikh pilgrimage centers in delhi. It was opened in the year 1783. If you are planning to visit in Gurudwara then first you have to book your spot first. It opens all days of weeks throughout the year. 

Tughlaqabad Fort 

It is a fortress in new Delhi was built in the 14 century by tughlaq dynasty founder Ghiyas -ud-din tughlaq. It opens all days of the week from 9am to 5 pm. 

National Museum 


It is one of the largest museum in new delhi. It is called national museum of india and was established in the year 1949. It covers all departments including archaelogy, decorative arts, jewellery, manuscript,  textiles, numismatics and many more. It opens all days from 10:00am to 5:00 pm except monday.
